I’m afraid I can’t review this one properly since I was struggling not to fall asleep throughout this viewing. Not because it’s a boring film, just my own circumstances and it was a watch party viewing so I couldn’t just pause it and come back.
One day I’ll rewatch it and give it a proper review. For now it may be my only film watched without a rating.
Congrats to Wes Anderson’s for his first ever Academy Award. Long overdue and not for one of the 2 or 3 films he’ll always be remembered for, but that does seem to be a regular with the Academy. This is a fantastic anthology of films and one I’ll certainly revisit.
P.S this is an official film listing and has a 2024 release but I just watched the shorts on release and counted this listing as the totality of that which I watched in 2023.
