Constantinus VII Porphyrogenitus (Graece: Κωνσταντῖνος Πορφυρογέννητος) fuit Imperator Romanus Orientalis ab anno 913 usque ad 959 in quo anno mortuus est.

Constantinus anno 905 in cubiculo purpureo palatii Constantinopolitani natus est, filius Zoae Carbonopsinae imperatorisque Leonis VI. Inter annos 913-944 fuit una cum Romano I Lecapeno imperator, ab anno 944 solus. Bella contra Arabes et Hungaros gessit, qui imperium eo tempore aggrederentur. In matrimonium duxit Helenam, Romani filiam, et ex ea genuit:

Imperator Constantinus VII, studiosissimus litterarum scientiarumque veterum Graecorum, scripsit cum amanuensibu nonnulla opera nova de imperio Byzantino necnon collectanea librorum antiquorum. In his libris multa scripta classica servata sunt quae aliter deperdita essent, e quibus fragmenta Polybii, Diodori Siculi, Flavii Iosephi, Dionis Cassii, Prisci, Menandri Protectoris, Cassiani Bassi. Constantinus die 9 Novembris 959 mortuus est.
