Rebel Republic Social House opened blocks away from Redondo Beach shores in early 2016, and appears ready to introduce a second location on the Hermosa Beach Pier in mid-May. Legendary restauranteur Paul E. Hennessey is leading the charge behind Rebel Republic, which is part of the expanding Hennessey’s Tavern family of restaurants.

According to Rebel Republic’s general manager C.J. Chiappinelli, Redondo locals were receptive to original Rebel’s menu and style, so it plans to bring the exact same plans and menu to the Hermosa Beach Pier.

Rebel scored in securing a prime location on Hermosa Beach Pier. Rebel Republic took over the shuttered Mediterraneo, and spent the last month giving the former tapas bar a facelift. This is a rapid turnaround, and most changes are cosmetic. And timing is everything, with an opening that should have the restaurant ready for busy summer months.

Hennessy has three co-owners on this project. All hail from one of Hennessey’s businesses, including Hennesey’s Tavern’s director of operations Ralph Russomano, director of operations, regional manager Andrew Northam, and HT Grill executive chef Nael Taki.
