Taking a page from 1886, Bicos Hospitality (Gus' BBQ, The Original Tops) is opening a craft cocktail bar in Pasadena called Magnolia House, slated to open October 15 on South Lake Avenue. With a fully permitted space and a full liquor license, a few construction items are the only items remaining. Helming the bar is Evan Zimmerman, who helped create the programs at Portland's The Woodsman and Laurelhurst Market. In addition, small bar bites like risotto arancini balls with black truffle and crab, as well as Korean chicken wings. It's encouraging to see more high-quality drinking establishments hitting the 626.
