Well, never came any close to beating dev highscore.

Visible collision shapes as a power-up is new one ...

The game looks and sounds great and feels super great, I had a lot of fun playing, and getting the challenges and the appropriate counterattack in the order you want is a use of the theme which is fun to deal with, I like this.

That's a super cool game, thanks for sharing.

Very nice game with a beautiful setting and intuitive controls.

This was the highest I could possibly go lol

The presentation as a whole was fantastic and everything was always readable, however I think there should have been a little more feedback for when you get hit since I didn't even know I took damage sometimes.

I love how getting new upgrades adds a new obstacle to dodge which is tied to whatever ability you unlocked in a way. However,  I think the ability to go underwater was a little OP since I dodged almost everything using it except for the fish that come from under the screen.

The dash could also feel a little better since it felt somewhat sluggish and unresponsive

The dialogue was funny and engaging though. Good stuff lol

Overall I'd say this a great entry, good going fish

Restricting the player to the physics of buoyancy in a 2D Bullet Hell is frickin awesome idea! Great job I really enjoyed playing!

Very cool take on the bullet hell genre, I certainly enjoyed the motions of these oceans!

Amazing game! It's well polished, the music fits the pirate aesthetic, and I love that your implementation of cursed items makes the game progressively more and more challenging! The NPC pirate is a pretty nice touch too! Well done! :)

Thank you!!

Nothing too much to say. All elements are really well put togheter, visuals, audio and mechanics are very thematic. There is narrative too...

The game is fun and replayable, 5 starts all over the board for me.

Bravo!

Wow - awesome game. I have to say, props for the awesome writing! The pop-in pirate dialogue and especially the writing for the powerups was filled with personality - it's not something I see every day. Great work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much!! The merchant's dialogue was honestly super fun to write, I'm glad the reception's been so good!

A very unique twist on a bullet hell! The art is cute, and I absolutely lost it when the first skeleton chucked itself at me.

Wow this one has so much creativity in its design!! Definitely the most creative spin on bullet hell i've seen. I really enjoyed the variety of obstacles that captures the feeling of bullet hell without it just being a screen full of projectiles. You had to think about how to avoid each type of enemy and use all the skills you unlock. So fun!

Only thing I wished for was an effect for the cannon! Since the v8 engine particles looked SO GOOD, it made me wish there was also a little something for the cannon jump :)

Awesome job! The dialogue was also really funny and i love the water effect!

Aaaahhh I knew I was forgetting something!

This was one of the games I put on my personal queue for Bullet Hell Jam. I'm biased because I love pirates/ocean anythings, but this game really goes beyond my checklist of things to love. Amazing polish. Super fun game play, and well designed for replayability. Consider me hooked.

Thanks a ton! I might try and push an update post-jam, pretty busy with work at the moment but I still wanna see where I can take this game

Looking forward to any future developments you have in store 🐟🐟🐟

awesome sound and visuals, and I love that the upgrades give you an enemy designed for you to use said upgrade. While it makes sense, the only thing that felt weird was the boat going faster to the right than the left, which made controls feel a bit awkward. Overall very fun though!

Developer

yeahh, that was def a bit of a risk on my part

i did it with the thought that the water would be pushing the boat forward, but i was never sure about how it felt to play

Well, that was really fun and different. I enjoyed the difficulty progression and those skeletons that just drop from the sky made me chuckle at just how absurd it was. Good game :)

Beautiful looking game! I looooove the water animation and how the game gets progressively harder each round!

Developer

thank you!

The visual style is really good and the gameplay is fun. I also like a lot how the power-up you choose is directly related to the enemy it spawns

Saw this one on discord. Looks and plays great!

But i swear i saw this game from a week ago somewhere as well. Or am i going crazy?

Developer (2 edits)

Odd, I only started development on the 12th. Though thay was pretty much a week ago lol

Developer

Oh, I finished it a couple days early as well. It was released, I think 2 days before the jam ended?
