Quick Post! Babysitters Inc Dolls

Hey Gang!

I found a few Babysitters Inc dolls in Target! Even some hard to find ones!
I have heard the strawberry blonde call Courtney and the guy called Kevin. This
reuses the names of the old Skipper friends.  Because the old Skipper only had a AA
friend, I don't think there was a name given to the Asian doll. Is the AA doll called
Janet? Let me know.
Courtney and Kevin.  Are they a couple?
 Kevin and the Asian doll.
The Asian and Courtney are the same complexion.

As you may know, I am not a fan of the whole bent arm thing!
I was told it was to hold the baby.
Two types of arm bends. One has a turned hand that would cradle better.
 Comparing Kevins!
He is a little taller than the old Kevin
 The feet are bigger!
Kevin can wear the new Kevin shoes but not vice a versa!
The neck knob is different. So there will be no head swapping with these two.
I thought he kinda looked like HSM Ryan but he is different. So not brothers but
maybe cousins.

 Head says 2017.
 Asian girl says 2016.
Here is the Asian Skipper with my Asian Tall rebodied!  Now her headsculpt say
2015 although they look the same.
 Sisters!

Now these two to me looked pretty close.  Mattel sometimes slightly alter heads to
create a new doll!  I think they look like Mom and daughter.
 The family!
They really look like what I notice when I look at families and familiar features.
A bit of mom and a bit of dad!

OK, Thanks For Looking!

Since I Can't Find Babysitter Kevin....

Hey Gang!

Since I can't find Babysitter Kevin....let look at the original Kevin!
You might remember I have one doll Kevin in Johnston who is a slacker!
He is always late for school!

He is hanging out in Johnston up at some friend on Facebook and Twitter!
He is doing this instead of doing his paper for class!
He has a twin brother who is straight as an arrow!
Who has come to check on his progress on his progress!
Although they are the same doll, they have slightly different face screening.
The paint on their hair is slightly different too!
They are looking, to me, in different directions too!
Cody is looking straight on and Kevin...
Seems to be looking a little to the left.

Since, I have four of these dolls,  I did a paint job on one of them to give him
a different look!  I had been looking at the blonde doll on line and monitoring
the price (which is what I do when I am thinking about a purchase!) of a blonde
doll,  when I thought I could just paint one of the ones I have! So that is what
I did!
I painted his hair and eyes.  I really like the way he turned out.
His name is Frank.  He is meeting Cody who will be working on a science
project with him.
Frank wasn't there with the project was assigned.  This is their first time meeting.
I think they all will be heading for the library for some research.
Cody and Frank are ready to go but somehow I think Kevin is going to find a
way out of going!
What I will do with the last Kevin...maybe a redhead.

OK, Thanks For Looking!

A Normal Day At School!

Hey Gang!

So there is a lot going in Johnston and at the school!  We last saw Trisha's daughter
with her at the school! But everyone needs to get to work, so Alicia heads
for her job and Patricia goes to her classroom.

Trisha walks the hall to make sure everything is going well.
Ashley: I told you we would be here before the bell!
Overhead ----Buzz Buzz Buzz
Jessie: Yeah, two seconds before the bell!
Ashley: Before is before!

Jessie: You can't be a good student and not be on time! School is not just
about reading, writing and math.  It is where we learn good habits too!
Mommy would be upset if she knew we were almost late because you
tried to catch a cat to bring home.

Trisha: Jessie....Ashley... What are you two doing still in the hall?  Didn't you
hear the bell?
Jessie and Ashley: Good morning Mrs. Taylor.

Jessie: We sorry Mrs. Taylor!  It won't happen again!

Ashley: It was my fault Mrs. Taylor.  I was trying to catch a kitten to bring home!

Trisha:  Ashley that was a nice gesture but you really should have given
the situation more thought!  Had you asked your mother if you could have
a pet? If you had caught the cat, what would you do with it until you went
home? If you were late for school, what would your mother say?

Jessie: See, I told you!
Trisha:  How about you two adventurer/scholars head to class.  Ashley,
you might wantt to ask you mother what she things about having a pet
Julie: Trisha, there you are!
Trisha: I was just helping these two young people to class.
Jessie and Ashley: Hello Mrs. Bennett.
Julie: Hello students.  Off to class!
Jessie and Ashley: Yes!
If you read this post anywhere
other [email protected]
It is a fake!!! Run!!
Julie:  I have a parent down the hall who would like to see us about registering
her children for school.
Trisha: OK! lead the way!

Kevin: I'm late but no one saw me! He He! Never use the main door when
you are late!

OK, Thanks For Looking!

High School Musical Zeke

Zeke!

If you read my post on Mattel Black Male Dolls, you
would know that one doll missing for my collection of
Black male dolls and on my wish list was High School
Musical 3 Prom Date Zeke. As a fugal doll purchaser, the
Zeke doll never really went down in price in retail stores.
That may be because he only showed up as part of a set.

Sales version of the doll set

Still the set never went down in price. I don't think that
many were produced either. It was one of the first times
that I saw a young blond female Caucasian doll (Sharpay)
paired with a young black male doll (Zeke) in a toy series.
(I may be wrong, so let me know). It was the first and only
set that contained Zeke. I found him on EBay recently
for a great price. The clothing was in bad condition but
the doll was not.

A little about HSM AA male dolls
One of the great things about the High School Musical series
is that the series produced two AA characters and three AA dolls.

Chad #1Side Note--This shirt was too short even for a smaller doll.
I use it for the girl dolls. I am calling him Jay!

This is the first version of Chad Mattel uses the
Jamal/Steven head mold for this doll. The gave him rooted
two tone curly hair and the complexion was lighter many
of the Jamal/Steven dolls.

Chad #2The second version of the chad doll received it own face.
I am not sure it looked much like the actor either but very
few celebrity dolls do. The hair didn't have as much of the
two toned look but hair color does differ from doll to doll.

Now that chad had a new look Mattel was free to use the
Steven/Jamal head again for another doll in the the series.

Zeke-

For the Zeke character who appeared in all three movies they
gave the Jamal Steven doll a darker complexion than Chad
in keeping with the character of Zeke in the movies
and he was darker than the Zeke from the promotion shots.

This version of the doll looks lighter and more neutral than
the actual sales doll. the one thing that can be said is these
three dolls, Chad 1, Chad 2 and Zeke were the first time that
Mattel did a doll this size (Kevin size) in an African American
doll. Poor AA teen Skipper. Both AA Teen Skipper
(Prom teen and Pizza Party AA dolls) and AA teen Nikki
never had a male counterpart. There were some promo
pictures of an AA doll (on the box of school desks) but he
never made it to production. They are the only AA Todd
size dolls. The HSM dolls also gave us more Kevin size
fashions.
