The trio broke into Gringotts to steal Hufflepuff's Cup from the Lestrange Vault. This break-in was the first and only successful one. This break-in was also latter reported in the Daily Prophet and was a subject of discussion at Hogwarts.[1] Lord Voldemort learnt that Harry was hunting his Horcruxes. He slaughtered all that brought him the news of the Gringotts break in and checked the remaining Horcruxes.[2] |
2 May | 1998 | Voldemort gathered his army to attack Hogwarts. The following battle claimed many lives.[3][4] Voldemort destroys the shard of soul resting in Harry's scar.[5] The remaining Horcruxes were destroyed, and after a furious showdown, Voldemort was killed by a backfiring Elder Wand, ending the Second Wizarding War.[6] |

14 May | 2014 | The second match of the 427th Quidditch World Cup takes place, between Fiji and Nigeria. The Fijian side suffer a bruising defeat after their Seeker, Joseph Snuka, catches the Snitch in the 141st minute, when his team was trailing 400-10. Fijian manager and trainer Hector Bolobolo's only comment after the match was "I'm going to kill him".[8] |

26 May | 1992 | Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Neville Longbottom, and Draco Malfoy serve detention with Rubeus Hagrid in the Forbidden Forest. They spot a dead unicorn and Harry encounters Lord Voldemort for the first time since his infancy.[13] |

Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Gilderoy Lockhart enter the Chamber to rescue her, but in an accident where Lockhart suffers memory damage, he and Ron must remain behind, leaving Harry to face the Heir of Slytherin alone.[14] He manages to save Ginny’s life, defeat and slay the Basilisk, and unwittingly destroy the diary Horcrux.[15] |
