Crossed Wands was a duelling club at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the 1890s, founded and led by Gryffindor student Lucan Brattleby. They used the Clock Tower Entrance as their arena. The society was supposedly secretive and individuals required an invitation from an existing member to join. Despite this, its existence was known about by Professor Dinah Hecat.

History

Crossed Wands was established at some point before the 1890–1891 school year by Lucan Brattleby. By 1890, Sebastian Sallow had emerged as one of its most fearsome members.

On 2 September 1890, after a run-in with Sebastian during a Defence Against the Dark Arts class, the new fifth-year student was invited to Crossed Wands. They met Lucan Brattleby at the Clock Tower Entrance and started participating in duels with other members.

Later in the year, they were given an assignment by Professor Dinah Hecat to attend Crossed Wands and win two rounds of duelling, evidently showing that the society was not as secret as initially thought.

When the student eventually became the Champion of Crossed Wands, they were given the Crossed Wands Champion Garb.
