- Vernon Dursley signs an online petition to reinstate Jeremy Clarkson as host of the television programme Top Gear, claiming it was the only reason he paid for a television licence.[1]
- 1 September: James Sirius Potter starts his education at Hogwarts.[2]
- London Five mysteriously go missing in London within hours of each other.[3]
Behind the scenes[]
- September: Michael Percival, who voiced Horace Slughorn, Timothy the Timid and a male gargoyle in the video game adaptation of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince dies.
- 6 October: Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is the first Harry Potter title released in a fully-illustrated format with over 100 full-colour illustrations by Jim Kay.
- 8 October: Enhanced Editions of the 7 books were published exclusively on iBooks by Pottermore. Enhanced editions include the full original text plus illustrations, animations and interactions as well as annotations written by J. K. Rowling to give you interesting insights into the world of Harry Potter.[4]
