Steinway is a neighborhood in Grand Theft Auto IV, Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City and Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars located in northwestern Dukes, Liberty City.
Description[]
Steinway is bounded to the west by the Humboldt River; to the north by Dukes Bay; to the east by Hewes Street (Meadows Park); and to the south by Dukes Boulevard and Harrison Street (East Island City).
Steinway appears to be a working to middle-class neighborhood. It is made up of 31 townhouses, 4 public housing projects, 2 mid-rise apartment buildings, and several stores. The townhouses, reminiscent of those found in the city of Belfast, have garages and miniature back gardens.
The neigborhood abounds with green spaces. Steinway Park, linked to Dukes Park in BOABO, lies on the west coast; while Gantry Park and a cemetery lie along Dukes Drive.
Crime[]
Steinway is the territory of the McReary crime family.
Influence[]
Steinway draws heavily from the northwestern neighborhoods of Queens, New York, such as Astoria and Long Island City. The Steinway Projects are almost undoubtedly a virtual representation of the Queensbridge Project in Long Island City, while Steinway Park and Gantry Park are replications of Astoria Park and Gantry Plaza State Park, respectively. The name of the neighborhood bear similarities to several locations bearing the name in Astoria, including Steinway Village (an incorporated village of Queens), Steinway Street, and the Steinway Piano Company, which was founded and manufactured in Astoria.

Trivia[]
- Steinway's name is a reference to the real Steinway family of Astoria, Queens (which Steinway is based upon), an American family of German origin which founded the Steinway & Sons piano company and "Steinway Village" in Queens during the nineteenth century, at the same time as Astoria was established. The name "Astoria" comes from the Astor family, another wealthy American family of German origin in Queens, who achieved prominence in business, society and politics. The Astors have been labelled "America's first aristocrats".
