The Morningstar Building is a skyscraper that appears in Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories located in Torrington on Staunton Island, Liberty City, just beside in the same block as the Jefferson St. Credit Union building, where they share the same plaza. The building is owned by the Morningstar Industries, as seen on the billboard nearby.
Design[]
The skyscraper's floor plan is a truncated rectangle where one of the corners forms a stepped garden. It has a glass panel façade which gives it an overall blue colour. When seen from far away, it practically seems invisible as it visually blends, with its similar façade and small height, with the much larger Jefferson St. Credit Union building behind it. Above the entrance, there is a white star logo, similar to the sculpture on the plaza in front.
The skyscraper's name is not official, but taken from its model file mrngstarbuild.
Influence[]
The building is likely based on the Trump Tower in New York City, which also appears in the box art of the first Grand Theft Auto.
Morningstar Plaza[]
The signature plaza in front of the building contains steps encircling the denivelated plateau with the prominent transparent sculpture of a star (actually two blended triangular prisms), probably the "Morning Star", a logo of the industrial magnate, the Morningstar Industries. The plaza is a popular place for businessmen to relax during work brakes and enjoy the view towards the ocean.

Trivia[]
- In Grand Theft Auto Advance, the Morningstar Building (along with many other buildings) are replaced with different types of buildings due to hardware limitations of the Game Boy Advance. Coincidentally, a Police Bribe star is located in the same spot where the star sculpture is originally placed.[1]
