Overview

The primary focus of the GTA Wiki is the Grand Theft Auto series. Our mission is to provide comprehensive, detailed, and specific information related to the games, their universes and everything within them.

Unlike Wikipedia, which covers a wide range of topics, our articles are tailored to GTA fans and players, ensuring that the content is directly relevant to their interests and needs. For this reason, we do not need to regurgitate what has already been written, likely in much greater detail, at Wikipedia.

Formatting

Where necessary, it is recommended to reference what Wikipedia (or another wiki) has already written instead of outright copying it. This can be done in a few different ways depending on the situation:

  • A {{Wikipedia}} template can be used to create a notice which references a Wikipedia article. This is usually appropriate for pages which cover a topic already covered on Wikipedia, such as Motorcycles or Shotguns.
  • The {{WP}} template can be used to create a link to a Wikipedia article or section. This is typically used in written text and is a shorter alternative to the {{URL}} template or using standard wikitext link formatting (for example [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motorcycle Motorcycles]).
  • The {{Fandom}} template can be used to create a link to an article on another Fandom wiki.
  • Several templates produce notices outlining that an article pertaining to a subject exists on another wiki (in greater detail):
