Mail.eyefind

An e-mail by Milica Bellic addressed to Niko Bellic on mail.eyefind.info in GTA IV.

Mail.eyefind.info, also known as EyeFind Mail, is an email service offered by eyefind.info in Grand Theft Auto IV, its episodes and is mentioned in Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars.

Description[]

Niko Bellic, Johnny Klebitz and Luis Fernando Lopez can all access the site from any computer in the game. The player only gets active emails from people after completion of the mission, Logging On. It is based on Yahoo Mail.

The emails can be from friends, Niko's mother, or other family members of the protagonist. E-mails can start missions, or they can just be random spam. Most emails throughout the games are a means of communication, to add detail to important parts of the storyline or reveal information about other characters. The player cannot reply by typing themselves but instead through either replying using the positive or negative button to emails from other characters (these choices do not affect the storyline). There is only a delete option for spam, however. Selecting emails that have been replied to only have the delete option, unless it is for an Exotic Export car theft missions (in which case the car must be successfully stolen, and the mission successfully completed). Read emails will be marked as such when the player browses through them.

Spam emails are often delivered to Niko during the game. Spam emails generally contain useless or explicit information. Some however will link to other fictional in-game websites or may refer to places in Liberty City.

It can be noted that Niko cannot compose emails, and the email service can only be used when people contact Niko through the storyline.

In GTA Chinatown Wars, some characters such as Rudy D'Avanzo, Lester Leroc and Xin Shan have a EyeFind Mail account.

Trivia[]

  • The inbox capacity in GTA IV and GTA Episodes from Liberty City is limited to forty emails. When the player's inbox reaches its maximum capacity and the player refrains from deleting existing emails, new messages can only be received by removing previously read ones.
  • Niko does not share his email address; however, various characters he encounters during gameplay are able to send e-mails to him.
  • Brucie Kibbutz is the only character who sends pictures via email to one of the main three characters.
