The Breakdown Truck is a tow truck that was cut from Grand Theft Auto.
Design[]
As its name suggests, the Breakdown Truck was a breakdown vehicle, an alternative term for tow trucks.
There are no leftovers or unused sprites for the Breakdown Truck that could reveal the vehicle's original design, aside from a single mention on the ENGLISH.FXT file, which lists the vehicle's original ID as 10 (between the Coach and the Train).[1]
Trivia[]
- The Breakdown Truck is still listed using the same car ID in the text files for Grand Theft Auto: London 1969 as a leftover from the original game, alongside the Boat.[2]
- In Grand Theft Auto: London 1961, this car ID is simply removed from the fxt file, rather than replaced by new mission pack vehicles. The car ID 9 (Double Decker) is followed by car ID 11 (Lewd Lorry).[3]
