As implied by its name, Backside Skateboards produces skateboards and a range of skateboarding-related apparel. In Grand Theft Auto IV, Backside Skateboards is featured on Peep That Shit's website under the "Skate" section.
In Grand Theft Auto Online, a Backside Skateboards off-shoulder top can be purchased by female characters in clothing stores, alongside Backside skate shoes. Identical skate shoes are purchasable for male characters, but oddly, they lack the Backside label. Characters of either gender can also purchase a Backside-designed scuba outfit. The company is featured as a livery sponsor for the Sultan Classic and Sultan RS Classic.
Influence[]
In Grand Theft Auto IV, the company's droplet mascot is reminiscent of the "Flameboy and Wet Willy" mascots formerly used by the skateboarding company World Industries. The inclusion of female silhouettes in designs seen in Grand Theft Auto V could also suggest they might take influence from Girl, noted for its female-centric branding.
