feature request: archive / unsubscribe feeds without removing them #2489
Comments
click the (i) in the feed overview and disable "keep updated"? |
this works as described, but i would have never expected that functionality behind and informational icon. in fact i've never clicked on it before, using this app for several years now. i only had a look at the "gears" icon and the three dots in order to look for this feature. |
You can also rename podcasts if you want to (long-press them in the sidebar). You could, for example, name it "Podcast xy (archived)".
|
@ByteHamster: thanks, i would consider this a workaround, but not a solution. |
Just a quick proposal regarding the naming: Wouldn't it make more sense to label it "disabled" rather than "archived"? Rationale: This functionality is not only useful for discontinued feeds, but also for feeds one wants to "listen into" some episodes, without having them regularily filling up the "New Episodes" tabs. Also, sometime one would like to pause a podcast and perhaps resume it some months/years later. Since adding new podcasts is quite some work, being able to disable them now and enable them later would be handy. See my accidental duplicate #2743 for more details. |
The "Keep updated" checkbox has been moved to a gears icon. That should make it more clear and easier to find. That checkbox does exactly what you both requested:
|
there are lots of podcast productions, that are discontinued.
AntennaPod should be able to work with them without updating their feeds anymore.
this would be beneficial, if you have lots of those discontinued feeds.
this may be implemented by archiving a feed. it should be accessible as a normal feed would be. you should be able to download and listen episodes and track them (#1960).
the UI should clearly label an archived feed.
i would prefer having it integrated in the normal UI instead of an archive section.
