The first LittleJS Game Jam announced its theme earlier today, which is animals. Developers now have a month up until December 12th to submit their game made with the LittleJS engine through Itch.
This event is an exciting opportunity to unleash your creativity and develop amazing games using the free and open source LittleJS game engine. Whether you’re a seasoned developer or just getting started, this jam is the perfect chance to dive into game development and showcase your skills.
LittleJS, similar to Kontra, started as an engine created specifically for participation in the js13kGames competition, and grew from there. Made by Frank Force, it can be used to build web games with small file size, which helps them load near instantly.
The prize pool is worth around $2500, with specific prizes for various acitvities, including submitting your game to Arcadia (with the winners being picked by the OP Guild team), and squeezing your entry into 13 kilobytes as part of the js13kGames challenge.
If you do plan to participate, make sure to check the documentation and tutorial – good luck and have fun!
