"Trevor Long, a tech journalist speaking to local broadcaster 9News Australia...." er, 9News doesn't have tech journalists.... come to think of it, it doesn't really have journalists.

      Not a 9news journo

As I read the article, he's a tech journalist taking to 9news, not their journalist. Journalists, like editors, are apparently not needed.

Quantas aren't alone in IT cock-ups.... The British Airways app was playing up at Christmas, giving me an electronic boarding card with a mash-up of two flights (one I had already taken, and one I was about to take.) meaning that I had to resort to getting a printed boarding card. Wiping the app's data, uninstalling and then re-installing didn't solve it, before anyone suggests that the error exists between the seat and the tray table....

    Test new code? Nah...

"Current investigations indicate that it was caused by a technology issue and may have been related to recent system changes,"

In other words, the IT mob tested an update on the production system.

Presumably my data is compromised even if I have never used the app

    I'm registered with QFF.

I would expect that never having used their app would not mean my data hasn't been compromised.

My points have not disappeared yet ...
