Frosty the Snowman is an American media franchise owned by Universal Pictures. It centers around the exploits of the titular anthropomorphic snowman who came to life by the magic of a magician's hat. It is based on the 1950 Christmas song of the same name by Walter "Jack" Rollins and Steve Nelson. An animated feature film adaptation of the song was produced in 1969 by Rankin/Bass Productions and DreamWorks Animation (formerly known as DW-Go Fish Cartoon Studio). In following years, several tie-in merchandising of the film, such as toys, greeting cards, books, etc. are sold during the Christmas season.

Currently, while the rights to the 1976-1979 library is owned by Warner Bros., Rankin/Bass' Frosty franchise (including the 1969 film, the pre-DreamWorks re-acquirement sequels, and the 2016 sequel) is owned by DreamWorks Studios through DreamWorks Classics.
