License question
Could someone who can read legalese better than me tell me if a free theme licensed under a GNU General Public License is portable as an official DW style?
Here's the theme in question: https://themes.bavotasan.com/themes/magazine-basic-wordpress-theme/
Here are their terms: https://themes.bavotasan.com/terms-conditions/
Here are the GNU GPL and its FAQs: http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-2.0.html and http://www.gnu.org/licenses/old-licenses/gpl-2.0-faq.html
I'm a bit confused about what the license says vs what the site says.

momijizukamori 2016-10-28 12:59 am (UTC)(link)1) a DW port of it would probably count as a modified/derived work
2) it would have to go in dw-free, but would otherwise be fine - I think a large chunk (or possibly all?) of that is under GPL already
3) they seem to be charging for support/future updates?
4) they have already violated the GPL by not including a copy of the GPL in the download zip
but in general you should be able to use it, yes.
