Personality[]
Gustavo is shown to be the leader of his band. However, not much of his personality is known as he is shown to make fun of Héctor during his plans to find Ernesto de la Cruz. In spite of that, he also shows a way to help Miguel find De la Cruz by going to his plaza.
Physical appearance[]
Gustavo wears a pale shirt with a black vest on it pair of dark blue jeans with a black belt on it. He also wears a brown fedora on his hat as well as having a black beard as well as having a mustache located below his nose. He also wears a plaid scarf around his neck.

Gustavo only appears in one scene where Miguel is discussing with Héctor where the latter asks Gustavo if he knows about the Sunrise Spectacular, which the latter replies that if Héctor is not on Ernesto de la Cruz's guest list, he is never invited to which Gustavo and his band taunt him, much Gustavo constantly making fun of him. Miguel asks him to know how to find Ernesto, which he tells him that to find him, he and Héctor must get to Plaza de la Cruz which Héctor leads him away from Gustavo. He makes no further appearances after that.

- It is unknown if Gustavo was aware of Ernesto de la Cruz's betrayal.
- In the Spanish version of Coco, Gustavo was voiced by Álex Lora, a real-life Mexican musician. Fittingly, Gustavo is also a musician, just like Lora is.
- His voice actor, Lombardo Boyar, also voiced the mariachi who was listening to Miguel's story.
