East Jefferson's soon-to-open eatery The Bridge takes its name in the literal sense. Designer Keith Jackson of Deep Drama filled the large dining space with architectural details like a suspension bridge-inspired wall and old-fashioned street lamps, while a muralist was hired to complete a large rope bridge painting.

The Bridge eschews sparse modernist details in favor of earth tones, texture, and upholstered wood chairs. Raised booths give customers a full view of the dining room lined with tables on the main floor, a stage for live music, and a full bar with a VIP liquor cabinet for regulars. In the summer, the restaurant plans to host events on a back patio overlooking the Detroit River. The Bridge hosted its first soft opening event on Mother's Day and will reopen for a second round on May 16. Expect the restaurant to officially debut on May 22.
