Expansions

Falafel Inc., the philanthropic Georgetown eatery that donates a portion of its sales to refugees, plans to open its second location inside the evolving Wharf complex. Washington City Paper reports that the Southwest shop may feature new items including a sandwich stuffed with spiced French fries. The homegrown restaurant also wants to set up shop in McLean; it’s already branching out in Boston.

Developments

A spokeswoman for restaurateur Mike Isabella confirms that the main Dining Hall at fledgling Isabella Eatery is scheduled to debut Monday, January 15. The centralized space, which is expected to take reservations and features select dishes from the modified versions of Arroz, Requin, and other sibling establishments inside Tysons Galleria, is projected to operate from 11 a.m to 9 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, and from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday.

Online fun

Low-key Arlington restaurant Linda’s Cafe has a wild side — on social media, anyway. Arlnow reports on the saucy language and combative tone displayed across the diner’s Twitter feed. Less than an hour after the story hit, whoever runs the account (doesn’t sound like Linda’s management is actively involved) sought to cash in.

The Shutter

A tipster alerts Popville that Dupont Circle eatery Bombay Express has closed. The Indian restaurant debuted last spring.
