Knox-Henderson is positively packed with must-try eateries. From some of the city’s best French bistros to pizza that really wows, this area’s restaurants can meet pretty much any diner’s needs any time of day.

It’s important to note that the boundaries of Knox-Henderson are loosely defined on this map, but each of these restaurants are just a stone’s throw away from where Knox and Henderson diverge at the intersection of Highway 75. A revamp of a 1974 original, today’s Chelsea Corner is just as great as its predecessor. Swing by with the crew for hot honey and pepperoni pizza and stunning seasonal cocktails during happy hour on one of the neighborhood’s best patios.

Toulouse offers a cozy Parisian cafe vibe in the middle of Dallas with old-school dishes including buttery, garlicky escargots, beef bourguignon, and trout almandine. It’s also the center of excellent people watching in the city, with it’s location just off the Katy Trail.

Knox Bistro

It’s one of the top brunch stops in Dallas, but under the direction of chef Bruno Davaillon the kitchen serves excellent French food at every meal, as well as offering a robust wine list. With daily dinner specials and a respectable selection of steaks, seafood, and a well-curated cheese plate, all the classic French cooking styles are represented. The vibe is casual, with a French country feel and lots of modern touches like glazed cement and wicker chairs on the patio.

Knox Ave. holds a lot of great restaurants, but it is currently home to the best fine dining restaurant in the city — Mister Charles. This spot from Duro Hospitality has the impeccable design elements of all its restaurants, plus a menu of classic American fare served on fine china. Head in for a real dining splurge, with whole dover sole served table side, excellent cuts of steak that start at around $100, or uni shells carbonara. It is possible to cobble together an entire meal from the shared plates on the left side of the menu at a lower price point.

While it aims to be a neighborhood spot, the decor is fairly fancy — so get dressed up or wear your every day looks, they’ll welcome you either way.

This beloved local sushi bar is a must-visit. There is plenty of seating at the sushi bar or tables inside, with a vibe that’s minimalistic. The robota items are grilled on oak and charcoal — think sea bass, squid, and octopus. There are also sushi, sashimi, and rolls galore.

Open since 1998, this Irish boasts a cozy atmosphere, plenty of whiskey, and fan-favorite snacks. Pair a pint or two with excellent fish and chips, or assemble a shareable board of cheese and snacks from a lengthy list of options like whiskey cheddar, homemade pate, and Welsh rarebit.

The pizza dough at this Henderson Avenue pizzeria is fermented for 96 hours, resulting in a truly transcendent crust. If, for whatever reason, pizza doesn’t strike your fancy, Pie Tap’s burger is also a good choice, as is the pasta carbonara. This family-friendly spot has loads of indoor and outdoor seating, including an expansive bar.

If you came to party, land here. Sfuzzi, with it’s red lights and shiny booths straight out of the ‘90s version of this restaurant, caters to a crowd that loves to see and be seen. Don’t miss the Sausage Rustica pizza, with sausage from Jimmy’s Food Store, or the Frozen Sfuzzi, which has been resurrected from it’s original recipe. And of course, there’s the Key Bump Shot, which says it all.

The decor and menu have undergone and overhaul. Start dinner with oysters on the half shell or ceviche. Ordering from the plates du jour menu is a solid choice, and Gemma offers a plethora of proteins with frites options. The French chicken breast is a real winner.
