From a leaking, faded, and chipped metal roof to Duro-Last membranes in five eye-popping colors–Coryell Roofing covers another Woodward Public School facility, the Woodward Early Childhood Center. This Woodward Public School building had a leaky, faded, and chipped blue, green, red, copper, and white metal roof. Upon inspection, the Coryell team found hail damage and severe leaks in the valleys where the metal panels met, which had led to water pooling inside the school.
The challenge was to find a supplier with membranes in the same colors as the original metal roof, as the Woodward board and administration had requested. Coryell turned to Duro-Last, one of their top suppliers. Duro-Last had blue, dark green, copper, and white membranes. They were in the process of manufacturing a shade of red membrane that would fit what the Woodward board and administrators wanted. So, the project began!
The Coryell team installed 60 mil blue, dark green, copper, and white Duro-Last membrane over 1/2″ gypsum over EPS flute fill. They installed PVC ribs in the copper section to give a faux-standing seam look. This maintained the iconic look the entrance of the school is known for. By the time this portion of the project was finished, Duro-Last had their new red membrane ready, and the Coryell team was able to button up another Woodward Public School to the satisfaction of everyone involved!
