Fan fiction or fanfiction (also abbreviated to fan fic, fanfic, fic or ff) is fictional writing written by fans, based on an existing work of fiction. The author uses copyrighted characters, settings, or other intellectual properties from the original creator(s) as a basis for their writing. Fan fiction ranges from a couple of sentences to an entire novel, and fans can both keep the creator's characters and settings and/or add their own. It is a form of fan labor. Fan fiction can be based on any fictional (and sometimes non-fictional) subject.
Because a Fanfiction, or the way we like to use it, "Fanon", can be made into whatever the author wants, and this is why we need to make our
Rules[]
- Every Fanon made by a user of this wiki has to connect to the original webcomic, "Cat's Cafe", by Matt Tarpley, if it is not, it will be deleted.
- If the Fanon article is in another language besides English, it will be moved to a user blog and a message will be sent to the user stating that, "Your Fanon article, (Article Name) is not in the wiki desired language, "English", please make a translated version."
- When you create a Fanon page, use the namespace, or more commonly known as prefix, "Fanon", (e.g. Fanon:Chipper visits the museum!), if you forget, that is totally fine, and whoever sees it first will move it!
- No plagiarism is allowed, any plagiarism will lead to an immediate 2 day block and the story will be deleted.
- Every Fanon article must have three certain categories:
- Category:Fanon Stories = For articles that are part of a story made by a user
- Category:Fan Art = For custom made pictures, (edited, or hand drawn) by a user
- Category:Fanon = For every Fanon article
- Pages of other authors are not to be edited, unless with the original author's permission. Edits to improve spelling and/or grammar, fixing coding errors, and adding the necessary templates, however, are allowed.
- A literal copy and paste of any canon pages are not permitted on the fanon namespace. These pages will be made to a redirect page and lead to the appropriate disambiguation page.
- To create a page with an identical name to an already existing page, create the page by adding your fanon name between parentheses after the character's or location's name. For more information about titles, read here.
- Stories that haven't been completed yet, must stay on a User Blog, Subpage, Google Doc, or however you like to write your stories, until finished.
