|I know our education system inside and out. During my nearly 20 years in public education, I have worked as a teacher, counselor, and school psychologist at all levels of education – preschool, elementary school, middle school, high school, and post-secondary. I am also a parent. My three stepchildren graduated from Wilcox High School, and my two daughters both attend Cabrillo Middle School. These experiences give me a unique perspective as a Board Trustee in making decisions that affect staff, students, and families in the school district.
- EVERY CHILD MATTERS: We need to ensure that we try to meet the needs of ALL children and help them achieve their individual potential.
- FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY: Let’s put money where it matters most – the classroom.
- LEADERSHIP ACCOUNTABILITY: We must hold our leadership to the highest levels of accountability. We do this by asking for and listening to feedback from parents and staff and responding to concerns in a timely manner.
Most of my career was spent advocating for students with disabilities and learning differences. I know that we can meet the needs of all students (including gifted students) if we are creative in our approach.I am passionate about providing a variety of educational options so that all students can thrive.

“ | After many years of advocating on behalf of students and teachers in the Santa Clara Unified School District, I am running to be a Trustee for Area 2 on the School Board.
I know our education system inside and out. During my nearly 20 years in public education, I have worked as a teacher, counselor and school psychologist. I have worked at all levels of education: preschool, elementary school, middle school, high school and post-secondary. I am also a parent. My three stepchildren graduated from Wilcox High School, and my two daughters currently attend Ponderosa Elementary School. These experiences give me a unique perspective as a Board Trustee in making decisions that affect staff, students, and families in the school district. To be a great district. we must always prioritize and remember three things: 1. EVERY CHILD MATTERS We need to ensure that we try to meet the needs of ALL children and help them achieve their individual potential. 2. FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY Let’s put money where it matters most – the classroom. 3. LEADERSHIP ACCOUNTABILITY We must hold our leadership to the highest levels of accountability.
