The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was April 22, 2014. Timothy Johnson was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Lana Theis defeated Nick Fiani, Rich Perlberg and Dale Rogers in the Republican primary. Theis defeated Johnson in the general election.[4][5][6][7]
