|Shannon Hoffman is running for Denver City Council District 10 because she loves her community. Like 70% of District 10 and half of Denver, she’s a renter. (City Council currently has zero renters.) Our campaign champions bold, progressive policies that put people over profit, earning us endorsements from leading progressive groups like the Colorado Working Families Party, Denver Democratic Socialists, and Denver’s union for the entertainment industry's craftspeople and technicians.
Shannon comes from a working-class family whose experience sparked her passion for justice. She’s been an educator for more than a decade and currently project-manages a nonprofit affordable housing and grocery store development. She's also worked retail to make ends meet.
With skyrocketing rents, more tenants facing eviction, and unhoused neighbors dying, Shannon is with you in this urgent fight for everyone to have a safe, affordable place to live. She'll also prioritize sustainable, accessible transit, a City budget that addresses root causes of crime and criminalization, and meaningful co-governance with our community. We deserve a Council member who reflects our lived experiences and progressive values -- not just in words, but actions.

- Shannon Hoffman is a renter, just like 70% of us in District 10. We need a renter on City Council who will champion the bold, progressive policies we need for solving Denver's housing crisis.
- District 10 deserves an accountable, transparent, and collaborative City Council member, like Shannon, who will reflect our lived experiences and progressive values -- not just in words, but actions.
- With a City Council member who puts people before profit, we can create a Denver that works for everyone!
1. AFFORDABLE HOUSING: As a renter, I’m astounded that zero renters serve on City Council. District 10 is 70% renters, after all! I will take a multi-pronged approach to solving our housing crisis: preserve and expand affordable housing units, stabilize rent, and encourage creative solutions to homelessness like safe outdoor spaces and tiny homes.
2. I’m the granddaughter of a coal miner killed by black lung disease — climate justice hits close to home. All Denverites deserve safe, accessible transit options that care for our planet, like walking, biking, and rolling. I'll also prioritize protected lanes and more green space.
3. We must center the voices of people who've historically been shut out of the halls of power, especially as we confront our biggest challenges. I will increase transparency and ways for the public to engage with government, remove barriers to participation, and co-govern with my D10 community.
