Robert S. Kenney is a former member of the Missouri Public Service Commission.[1] Kenney was appointed to the position on July 29, 2009, by Governor Jay Nixon (D). Nixon named Kenney PSC chairman in March 2013. In June 2015, Kenney announced that he would not seek reappointment to another six-year term on the commission. His retirement took effect August 7, 2015, upon the expiration of his term.[2]
Biography
Kenney was formerly an assistant attorney general for the state of Missouri. He was assigned to the consumer protection division of the attorney general's office. He then worked in private practice at the law firm Polsinelli Shalton Flanigan Suelthaus PC. Prior to joining the MPSC, Kenney served as chief of staff to Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster (D).[3] Upon his retirement from the Public Services Commission in 2015, Kenney announced his plans to become the Regulatory Relations Vice President of the Pacific Gas and Electric Company in California.[4]

Missouri Public Service Commission (2009-2015)
Kenney served as a member of the Missouri Public Service Commission from 2009 to 2015. He was named as chairman in March 2013 following Kevin Gunn's resignation.[5] During his tenure, Kenney became nationally-recognized for his leadership in utility regulation. He particularly focused on community outreach, creating a consumer outreach and education specialist position and the Public Service Commission's Speakers Bureau.[6]
