Peter P. Flores (Republican Party) is a member of the Texas State Senate, representing District 24. He assumed office on January 10, 2023. His current term ends on January 11, 2027.
Flores (Republican Party) ran for election to the Texas State Senate to represent District 24. He won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
Biography
Peter Flores was born in Minot, North Dakota, and lives in Pleasanton, Texas. Flores earned a B.S. in recreation and parks administration from Texas A&M University in 1983. Flores' career experience includes working as a game warden for the Texas parks and wildlife department and as a consultant at the National Association of Conservation Law Enforcement Chiefs Academy.[1][2]

2018
A special election for the office of Texas State Senate District 19 was held on July 31, 2018. Candidates had until June 25, 2018, to file nomination papers with the secretary of state.[3]
On June 18, 2018, state Sen. Carlos Uresti (D) resigned from the state Senate, four months after he was found guilty of charges related to bribery surrounding a government contract and charges of wrongdoing.[4]
Pete Gallego (D) and Peter Flores (R) defeated Roland Gutierrez (D), Charles Urbina Jones (D), Tomas Uresti (D), Jesse Alaniz (R), Carlos Antonio Raymond (R), and Tony Valdivia (L) in the special election on July 31, 2018, and advanced to a runoff election. Flores then defeated Gallego in the runoff election on September 18, 2018.[5][6][7]
