Peter James (independent) ran for election to the U.S. House to represent Maryland's 6th Congressional District. He was disqualified from the general election scheduled on November 3, 2020.

James was a 2012 Republican candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 6th Congressional District of Maryland. James was defeated by incumbent Roscoe Bartlett in the Republican primary.[1] He also ran as the Republican nominee in the 2008 regular and special elections for the 4th Congressional District. He was defeated by Donna Edwards (D) in both elections.[2][3]

Biography

James was born in Nashville, Tennessee, and moved to Maryland at age 4. He spent two years at the University of Delaware and studied American history at the University of Maryland. James' career experience includes working as an issuer of Just Money and as a cost evaluation system coordinator at Intel.[4]

James ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent Maryland's 6th District. James sought the nomination on the Republican ticket, but he was defeated by incumbent Roscoe Bartlett in the April 3, 2012, primary.[5]

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run was January 11, 2012.[6]
