Patricia Sullivan is a part-time federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the District of Oregon. She was first appointed to this position on September 28, 2005.[1]
Early life and education
Sullivan was born in Illinois in 1946. She attended Washington University for almost four years before transferring to Loyola University, where she graduated with a B.A. degree in history in 1973. She received her J.D. degree from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1978.[1]
Career
During law school, Sullivan worked as a research assistant for a professor and then for the school's "Institute of Government" in the Legislative Research Division. She worked as a staff attorney in this division for a few months in 1978. She then joined the Georgia Legal Services Program as a staff attorney. In February of 1980, she became a law assistant to Judge Sognier of the Georgia Court of Appeals. In 1983, she joined the law firm Corey, Byler, Rew, Lorenzen & Hojem. She began serving as a part-time magistrate judge in 2005.[1]
