Oregon's 1st Congressional District special election, 2012

The 1st Congressional District of Oregon held a special election for the U.S. House of Representatives on January 31, 2012. The election was to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Representative David Wu. The primary election was held on November 8, 2011.

The winner of the special election was Suzanne Bonamici.[1]

This is the 1st Congressional District prior to the 2010 redistricting.

The following candidates were on the general election ballot.

Election targeted

Republican candidates Rob Cornilles was targeted by the Super PAC House Majority PAC. The Democratic-allied PAC spent about $300,000 on defeating Cornilles,[2] primarily through TV ads.[3]
