Lindsey Graham was a Republican candidate for the office of president of the United States in 2016. Graham withdrew from the race on December 21, 2015, after finding it difficult to win a significant level of support. On the day he dropped out, Real Clear Politics listed Graham with a national polling average of 0.5 percent.[1] Graham is a Republican member of the U.S. Senate from the state of South Carolina. He was first elected to the Senate in 2002 and most recently won re-election in 2014. Graham also represented South Carolina's 3rd Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives from January 3, 1995, to January 3, 2003.[2]
