Larry Roberts was the Kentucky Secretary of Labor Cabinet. Roberts assumed office on December 10, 2019. Roberts left office on July 1, 2021.

Gov. Andy Beshear (D) appointed him in December 2019. He succeeded David Dickerson.

Roberts also served as the labor cabinet secretary from 2013 to 2015. He was appointed to office by Gov. Steve Beshear (D) effective May 16, 2013. He was replaced with Derrick Ramsey when Gov. Matt Bevin was sworn in.

Prior to his appointment to Secretary of Labor Cabinet, Roberts served as director of Kentucky State Building & Construction Trades Council. He had served in other positions in the cabinet, including director of the Division of Employment Standards, Apprenticeship and Training. He had also been involved with the Governor’s Task Force on Unemployment Insurance, and served as the labor representative on the Kentucky Prevailing Wage Review Board. Roberts is also a member of Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 452 and I.U.O.E. Local 181.

Roberts was appointed labor secretary by Gov. Any Beshear (D) in December 2019.

Secretary of Labor Cabinet (2013-2015)

Roberts was appointed secretary by Gov. Beshear (D) for a term effective May 16, 2013. He replaced Mark S. Brown, who served in this position from his appointment on December 1, 2010, to his resignation May 15, 2013. As labor secretary, Roberts served at the pleasure of the governor.
