Ballotpedia biographical submission form
The candidate completed Ballotpedia's biographical information submission form:
“ | What is your political philosophy?
Liberal. Congress should work for the people, not the big banks, corporations or other special interests. The highest ranking position in a democracy is citizen. I hope to serve the residents of Queens, Brooklyn and Manhattan with humility, honesty, compassion and integrity. Is there anything you would like to add? Incumbents in our Congress (both Democrat and Republican) take the majority of their campaign money from corporate political action committees (PACs) and other special interest PACs and lobbyists. This money then controls our politics and policy and law, enabling corporate profit over our general welfare. Life is so hard now for so many of us and there is so much poverty in our country and communities because our politicians and policies have valued shareholders over workers, profit over the environment and corruption over common sense. When elected, I pledge to never take PAC or lobbyist money. My sole duty will be to promoting our general welfare. Some policies I will support and fight for: Paid Parental Leave Medicare for All Universal Pre-K Student loan forgiveness Economic incentives for freelancers, small businesses and artists Building new public housing Updating our current public housing to modern standards Investing in solar, wind and other renewable energies Regulating and taxing the legal sale of cannabis Building more schools and community space Reducing taxes for small business owners, freelancers and caregivers Universal basic income to ensure that no person has to live in poverty and local economies can flourish.[4] |
