Chris Jordan is a 4th generation Spokanite, proud union member, Mead Schools product, and state attorney focused on child safety. He is is running for Spokane County Commissioner to build a strong middle class and a region where all children and families can thrive. Chris protected children in hundreds of child safety cases; he's seen the barriers too many families face, from untreated drug addiction and mental health issues, to housing insecurity and poverty.

Chris Jordan served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Washington State Attorney General's Office since 2015. His cases focus on child welfare and safety. Jordan is a member of the Spokane County Juvenile Court Improvement Committee and was honored with Juvenile Court's Judge Triplet Teamwork Award and his court team with the Hope Award.

Along with a team of colleagues, Chris led a bipartisan effort to pass the Homeless Children Education Act, Washington's first law addressing student homelessness. He was appointed by Governor Chris Gregoire to the UW Board of Regents and voted against housing raise increases and pushed the Legislature to freeze tuition.

  • Chris is an authentic voice for the middle class.
  • Chris has a record of protecting public safety.
  • Chris is a proven problem-solver who advocates for change and gets results.

Chris is passionate about building a strong middle class and has been endorsed by labor unions including the Spokane Regional Labor Council and the Fire Fighters Union (IAFF Local 29). He supporting investments in stabilizing our child care centers and making child care more affordable for middle class families. He has called on Spokane County to make mental health and drug treatment services more accessible. Chris believes it's past time to take climate change seriously and supports a county-wide climate action plan being established. Chris will be a reliable voice for working people as a union member and wants to expand the use of apprenticeships to build a pipeline of good paying jobs. Chris has worked with law enforcement to keep children safe and supports common sense reforms to improve equitable outcomes in the justice system, build community trust, and target root causes of crime.

My Grandpa Jack Spring was my hero. After a career as a pitcher in Major League Baseball, he returned home to Spokane to teach and coach kids. His Major League talent did not trickle down, but he passed on a love of the game, and a commitment to help young people through public service.

Passion for public service. Experience with collaborative leadership. Open mindedness to learn from community voices. Determination and work ethic.

Helping build a strong middle class in Spokane County and creating the conditions where all children and families can thrive in our region and enjoy Spokane's unique quality of life.

My first job was scrubbing floors and power washing the building at my uncle's carpet store on North Ash Street in Spokane. I was raised by a tight knit, middle class family who taught me to work hard, serve others, and love the Mariners and Zags.

Bruce Springsteen is always stuck in my head! "The Rising" is an all time favorite!

I was raised in a middle class family and had to take out student loans to attend college despite working to help pay for tuition. I understand what it's like to struggle with student loan burdens that so many families face. I also know the stresses of trying to afford a home as a young family in this market where housing affordability is such a challenge.

I have seen the barriers too many children and families face in our community. Misguided County decisions have delayed needed childcare investments, stalled common sense justice reforms, fueled traffic problems and undermined trust our public health system. I will bring my public service experience to the Commissioner's office to work together for solutions. I am a proven problem solver who has worked with Republicans and Democrats to achieve progress for families. I will also stand up for my principles when needed; I have a history of voting "no" when I believe the wrong decisions are being made.
