The Atelier series is a series of role-playing games developed by Gust since 1997, primarily for the PlayStation consoles, though somes games have also been ported to Nintendo consoles and PC. The series was only released in Japan until 2005, when the 6th main title was released in North America and Europe. The word "Atelier" is a French loan word which means "workshop". Each of the games features an alchemist as the protagonist and item creation plays a heavy role in the progression of the game.
