Reisalin "Ryza" Stout (ライザリン・ライザ・シュタウト Raizarin "Raiza" Shutauto) is the titular main protagonist in Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout, Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy and Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key. She also appears in Atelier Online: Alchemist of Bressisle and Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy & the Liberator of Polar Night.
Ryza lives on Kurken Island together with her mother and father. Rather than to help out on her parents' farm she wants to sneak away to the mainland. She spends her days with her childhood friends Tao Mongarten and Lent Marslink, and acts as the leader of their group.
When Ryza and her friends are saved from a monster on the mainland by Empel Vollmer and Lila Decyrus, she is introduced to alchemy and becomes Empel's student. Ryza starts using her new skills to help townspeople and adventure on the mainland, but her mother disapproves of her hobby. She eventually builds a secret hideout together with her friends, so that the team can focus on their goals away from their parents and the island. The hideout is named "Atelier Ryza", and becomes her alchemy atelier.
Ryza and her friends have a rivalry with Bos Brunnen and his underling Lumbar Dorn. They used to be friends when they were younger, but after an incident where a young Ryza was at the risk of drowning their friendship fell apart.
Over the course of a single summer the friends share many adventures. This leads them to both face the dangerous Philuscha, but also grow as individuals. Ryza then returns to her ordinary life until three years later, when she journeys to the capital and gets caught up in yet another grand summer adventure.

Ryza is a young woman around her late teens with short medium brown hair with light-brown wide eyes, and a delicate oval face. She has slightly large breasts and a curvy-slim frame.
She wore a white sleeveless strap crop shirt with sleeveless yellow vest jacket with white somewhat fluffy detached sleeves on her arms. She also wore a single brown leather glove on her right hand, a dull-golden colored star pendant around her neck, a white beret hat with a black ribbon on it, a bronze musical note pin within her hair, a brown leather belt with a squarish golden belt buckle within red short-short pants, and white thigh-highs stockings with brown leather low-heeled boots, and lastly a brown thigh-holster on her left leg.

Reisalin Stout (Ryza) is the main lead of the series, she starts as the sparkle that bring the change to Kurken Island, all her life she be stuck inside of this village and never be able to see the outside world, but her eager to discover more than just her little island together with her cheerful and positive personality makes her the leader of her group, she learns with Empel Vollmer about her ability to work with Alchemy, and relies on her friends and family to always help her.

Ryza's active and passive abilities focus on the usage of Core Items and dealing magic damage to enemies. Occasionally, her abilities can inflict other effects, like additional Stun Gauge damage, knockback, and Thorn. Ryza is useful for regenerating Core Charges and dealing additional damage with Core Items. While her active abilities aren't very unique, having 4 Core Item slots to use in battle can be useful, considering only Ryza and Empel have 4 slots. Ryza is flexible with roles, although Attacker or New Legend (Special) would fit with her abilities and skills fairly well.

In Atelier Ryza 2[]
Similar to her kit in Atelier Ryza, Ryza is a great support player for the usage of Core Items and dealing magic damage. However, she gains a larger variety and utility in her active skills. She provides a mixed magic/physical kit with an emphasis on utilizing various elements, reducing resistances, knocking opponents back, and increasing damage. Additionally, she seems to be pretty sufficient at various different roles on your team, evident in her use of various damage types and elements down to her passive abilities dabbling in each category (Vitality, Aggression, Perseverance, and Velocity Lv1). Ryza can be used as an attacker via dealing bonus Stun Gauge damage and targeting enemy weaknesses, as a Support providing additional item utility for your team, and applying debuffs and buffs to enemies and teammates respectively. Overall, Ryza can be considered a Jack-of-all-trades, able to cover team weaknesses and take advantage of enemy weaknesses, while retaining item usage and alchemy at her core.
