Atelier Elkrone: Dear for Otomate (エルクローネのアトリエ 〜Dear for Otomate〜, Erukurōne no atorie 〜dear for otomate〜) is a dating simulation video game developed by Otomate for the PSP. The game is only available in Japan.
A drama CD came as a pre-order bonus with the game. A limited edition was released as well, which came with a book with the concept art of the game and a drama CD, different from the pre-order bonus one, titled "学園★エルクローネ(Gakuen★Erukurōne, "Academy★Elkrone"). Several stores also had store-exclusive bonuses bundled with purchase of the game.
Plot[]
The story takes place in the town Elkrone, where the main character Meriela inherits a workshop from her grandmother. Her first customer is a fairy by the name Popote(ポポット, Popotto), who asks her to create a mysterious item, a Blue Wakkakka (あおいわっかっか). Meriela doesn't know how to create it yet, but Popote starts helping out at the workshop until she can create the item.
Gameplay[]
Synthesis[]
During certain points of the story, the player can choose ingredients for synthesizing items. Generally there is no recipe available to the player, but the circle on the synthesis screen will gradually fill in with blue as the player picks the right materials. All items in the game are recorded with images and descriptions in the Item Encyclopedia. Some items will also be carried in the Basket, although this does not have any gameplay benefits other than informing the player what story items Meriel is currently carrying on her.
Main character settings[]
The main character's name is changable and her voice and picture can be turned off if the player wishes to do so.
Town map[]
During several points of the story, the player will be able to choose a location to go to from the town map. The player can generally only go to locations where there is a quest available, but at certain times it's possible to go to places without quests in order to view events.
Requests[]
In an usual in-game day, Popote will present the requests available in the morning. After viewing the available requests, the player can choose to head to town, tend the shop, or take it easy for the day. To accept a request, the player must choose to head to town, which will take the player to the town map. A request is accepted by choosing the location of the request from the town map. Requests are a key part to deepening relationships and experience various events.
