We are thrilled to announce that Professor Yaghoobi has been selected to serve on the Modern Language Association’s (MLA) ALD Executive Committee (Association of Language Departments) for a three-year term beginning January 13, 2025, and concluding on January 9, 2028. This prestigious appointment highlights Professor Yaghoobi’s dedication to academic leadership and the advancement of the discipline.
The ALD Executive Committee plays a pivotal role in guiding initiatives and programming that benefit both ALD members and the broader MLA community. During their term, committee members engage in activities such as:
- Organizing and leading workshops and sessions at key events like the Summer Leadership Institute and the MLA Annual Convention.
- Contributing to the ALD Bulletin and updating guidelines for department leaders.
- Supporting the ALD–MLA Language Consultancy Service and collaborating on innovative resources for the academic community.
