Jonathon Wilson Ready Steady Cut The Rig and the crew of the Kinloch Bravo return to Prime Video for another six-episode season that is significantly bigger and bolder, and also – this is the surprising bit – slightly better. Rated: 3.5/5 Jan 2, 2025 Full Review Alison Rowat The Herald (Scotland) The quality of the CGI could be better, although most viewers will likely watch on a phone screen. But you do come for the characters, and the thrills, of which there are plenty. Dec 28, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Dave C Where Series 1 would have benefitted from better direction, this launches itself out onto the field also struggling with its writers and a serious case of overacting... Gave up after two episodes Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/03/25 Full Review Tim S Painfully slow and drawn out second season. The whole ancestor thing didn't really have any more mileage in it barring either help it and win, or destroy it. What they did here, was abandon the first season before it really finished then tried to make a full season out of the last episode. The whole thing is basically a really good film dragged out way too long, with 90% of it being in season 1, and the rest in season 2. I see they even tried to leave it open enough for a season 3 at the end, I won't be watching it if they do. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/03/25 Full Review Ignacio S Loses Personality The second season decides to forget about itself to focus on the intricacies of the energy company and the eternal clash between humanity and nature. All that mystery with hints of horror we saw in the first season simply ceases to exist. There are some new characters that add to the story, but it’s not enough to elevate a show whose biggest problem is being just another one. Another aspect that, personally, detracted a lot for me is the special effects department, as we get many scenes with lights that seem a decade old, to be generous. When the best thing is the cast, it’s clear that the rest doesn’t measure up. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/03/25 Full Review Simon B Series feels like it's going nowhere slowly, yet again they find themselves trapped on a Rig, no communications, rouge company members trying to kill those trying to help things, a random side story back on mainland that you don't really feel invested enough in. I can't see a 3rd season getting the green light. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/02/25 Full Review Colin T I Couldn't wait to see the second season of this show, and it was certainly worth the wait! Sheer escapism and great characters, old and new. I particularly like the one played by the very handsome (and talented!) Scottish actor 'Ross Anderson' what a cool character! It's hard to believe this series was filmed entirely in 'Leith' Edinburgh. The 'Blue screen' filming is 'top class' and if anyone picks fault in this element of the series then they obviously must be a 'Hollywood' BIG budget film producer that have made successful movies themselves! OR perhaps (and probably more like it) 'underachievers' that haven't done much themselves at all and just love to moan and gripe! When all most people are looking for is a bit of great entertainment from the small screen! Which 'The Rig' season 2 delivers in bucket loads!! Season '3' please!!!
