Create an Egg-cellent Welcome

Hung on the front door, this easy DIY egg wreath will great guests in style.

To make: Tie a length of twine around a 12-inch biodegradable craft ring, this will be used to hang the wreath. Attach fake or blown real eggs (we used a combination of both) such as goose, chicken, quail, and duck eggs using hot glue. Nestle greens throughout the eggs, hot gluing them in place, if desired. Hang from twine.

Embellish with Nature

Keep the tablesetting humble, but elegant by choosing natural materials and other nature-inspired items. Start with a runner made from yardage of burlap. Remove the vertical threads from the edge and weave in a thin strip of burlap ribbon to make it feel special. Flecked eggs on candlesticks (interspersed with anemones, ferns, and eucalyptus) add height and texture.

For a finishing touch, use a small paintbrush to fleck tan acrylic paint (thinned with a bit of water) on undyed farm eggs. Once dry, handwrite guests’ initials with a gold paint pen. Display on a nest of moss and twigs.

Go Deep For the Oohs and Aahs

This Deep-Dish Bacon and Leek Quiche takes decadence to a whole new level. Every component makes it absolutely mouthwatering: The bacon adds a salty, smoky element; the gruyere cheese offers a nice sharp flavor that cuts through the rich cream; and the leeks are the perfect hint of sweet and spicy. The secret to this grand plate is to blind-bake the crust so it gets that gorgeous golden-brown color and comes out nice and flaky. Oh, and one of the best parts about this larger-than-life quiche? It tastes downright delicious served warm, at room temperature, or even cold!
