I have a question that doesn't apply to chickens but to my meat turkeys. Maybe someone can give me advice as to what I should do, maybe I'm just being silly. I'm new at this so if anyone could help I would be very grateful. I raised 4 turkeys and today was butchering day. As I was cutting the legs off of my Tom, one side seemed to have some clear fluid leak out. It wasn't much, and he didn't appear to be injured leading up to today. I smelled it and it didn't appear to have any smell. Is it still safe to eat him? I am giving this one to my mother to cook for Thanksgiving and wanted to make sure it would be fine.

Sounds like normal joint fluid. If it was very slick like egg whites but a bit more watery then for sure it was just joint fluid. It can be found in pretty much all their joints in varying amounts. You'll find all sorts of odd but perfectly normal things going in when butchering any animal for the first few times.

Thanks a lot! I figured it was fine but I also didn't want to make everyone sick on Thanksgiving lol
