Hello, I’m relatively new at incubating (this is my second round).

I have 3 eggs on day 22, 1 chick has fully hatched (it went from first pip to hatching in 18 hours). The other two chicks pipped 6 hours before that chick (who has now hatched), with very little progress over the last 15 hours.

Im wondering at what point should I assist? It’s now over 26 hours since pipping for those two remaining eggs.

Temp is 37.5 and humidity is a little high since the third chick hatched, at 76 - 78.

Any advice would be appreciated.

At that point, I would try to open them very carefully. Just start peeling off pieces of the egg. If it seems like the chick can get out the rest of the way it’s own, just put it back in the incubator.

Update:

So I decided to take them out (one at a time) and peel some of the shell back & moisen the membrane have a look at what was going on.

Turns out both chicks were malpositioned (pointing away from air sac) so they couldn’t pip internally & had pipped externally. I read on the assisted hatch article that if this happens it can take an extra long time for them to unzip because they haven’t finished absorbing the yolk. So I popped them back in the incubator & waited. One chick hatched about 5 hours later, the second still looks like it’s “chewing” so I’m assuming it’s still absorbing the yolk, but might get them out to moisten the membrane again & take a look in a couple hours If there’s been no progress.
