Zombies: The Re-Animated Series (stylized as Z-O-M-B-I-E-S: The Re-Animated Series) is a fantasy, musical animated television series created by Aliki Theofilopoulos and Jack Ferriolo for Disney+ and Disney Channel.[2] Produced by Disney Television Animation, the series serves as a spin-off to the Z-O-M-B-I-E-S franchise, which spawned from the 2018 film.[3] The series began airing on June 28, 2024 on Disney Channel.[1][4]

Production
On June 15, 2022, during the Annecy Film Festival, it was reported that an animated series, titled Zombies: The Re-animated Series, was being developed by Disney Television Animation for Disney+ and Disney Channel. Descendants: Wicked World creator and director Aliki Theofilopoulos and Amphibia story editor Jack Ferriolo will serve as creators and showrunners. The duo will also executive-produce the series alongside Gary Marsh and the films' writers Joseph Russo and David Light.[2] Rachel McNevin will also serve as story editor with Melanie Pal producing. Leah Artwick serves as supervising director, while Matt Doering is the art director. Doug Rockwell, Tova Litvin, Chantry Johnson, Michelle Zarlenga, Jack Kugell, Matt Wong and Hanna Asres Jones are the songwriters.[6] The series was greenlit for a 40-episode run, but got reduced to 20.[7]
Casting
Milo Manheim, Meg Donnelly, Chandler Kinney, Carla Jeffery, Ariel Martin, Kylee Russell, Trevor Tordjman, Terry Hu and Pearce Joza reprise their roles from the films and Kahyun Kim joins the main cast as a new character.[2][1] James Godfrey and Jonathan Langdon reprise their roles in the series as well.

- This is the second animated series based on the Zombies franchise after Addison's Moonstone Mystery.
- Meg Donnelly confirmed that the series takes place after the third movie and before the fourth movie.
- "Re-animated" in the title is an allusion to the reanimation of the dead, fitting with the theme of zombies.
- A sneak peek aired on April 28, 2024 as part of Disney Channel's Halfway to Halloween event.
- Principal Lee, Coach and Bonzo have more of a recurring role, compared to the previously made animated mini-series where they were primarily absent.
