Monday Chit Chat

First of all, THANK YOU for all the kind words and the compassion you've shown me by leaving such nice comments on my latest post. It was so heartwarming and it convinced me even more to keep on going with this blog. Thanks a bunch!!

As you know I got started on some African Flower Action and I'm totally loving it to pieces. I think this is the prettiest project I've ever started. I'm so in LOVE with it! I decided it's going to turn into a new sleeve for my Macbook, since that really needed replacement. And I also decided to make a tutorial for you on how to make one of your own.

It's definitely my happiest project ever, although I did a lot of them. It's a Color Bomb through and through!

The colors inspired me to start something else too. I'm using one of my old patterns, the Circle Granny Square (check out the tutorial). It's turning out quite lovely, if I say so myself. And our iPad needs a sleeve too, so I just keep on going while I'm at it. Some nice stuff for myself, to lift my spirits...

Oh, and tomorrow Miranda from Mier Papier is going to teach me to paper maché!! Looking forward to that!

I hope you have a happy monday!!

Monday Chit Chat

Yes, I did some more rainbow doily crochet. This one I like much better! I designed it saturday, when I sat next to my little sick ckicky all day. (Yes, sick AGAIN). I love this and you?

I have a million things to do, but I just can't help myself. Sometimes I just need to design something new. Although I can think of lots of 'better' things to do, I cannot imagine anything BETTER than THIS...

I had to make some more Crochet Coasters for the Sunday Market next sunday. They tend to keep making me happy, because they're so pretty. And I always feel like making more in different colors.

I just made my first post for the Craft Cafe, a series on the lovely Heart Handmade UK blog that I contribute to. You'll have to be patient, since it's going to be published in August... But I will let you know by then.

Well, a short one this monday. It was so stormy and rainy today, but now the sun is shining! Oh how I love Summer!! Have a hooky day!

Rainbow Heaven

First of all, I wanted to thank you all for the appreciation I got for the Flower Coaster Pattern and the Give-Away of that pattern. It was very overwhelming. It's great that everybody is so enthusiastic about it and I wanted to thank you all for the nice comments, emails and all the purchases. You guys make this all so much FUN!!!

As you can see, I've been busy. Every once in a while, as many of you know, I make a pair of these Flower Potholders (you can find the tutorial here). I can't tell you how happy I got when making these... The rainbow has an effect on me. Of course the potholders are for sale in my shop. And they will be one of a kind, too.

And I've also been experimenting a little. Making new coasters, squares and just trying light color combinations. Oh, how I love to be so lucky!

Have a positive day!

BTW. Lots of you ask me questions about the yarn I use. You can find the word YARN in my sidebar under the name LABELS. This is the link. Hope it helps.

Summertime

Long time no see! Weirdly, recovering from CFS leaves me with much littler time to write on my blog lately. I have been cleaning the house thoroughly, bringing the kids to school, picking them up, getting up early to exercise and making delicious diners. Also I have a vegetable garden now, which needs a lot of attention this season and brings me much joy (and already some vegetables to put on a plate!). Hence my long absence.

Must admit though, with this kind of weather I don't always feel like crafting. Being outside makes me happy once the sun shines and it's healthy too. I'm reading a lot of books (in the sun) and like to cook summer dishes. Although I am making plans to make another Color Bomb blanket...

The little one is with my mom at the moment, the big one in school. The sun is shining and I thought it was time for some talk and pictures...

I really love Blythe dolls. I found one at the Queens Day flee market. Isn't she pretty. And some felt hearts to make a garland. Started this a few weeks ago at my craft night, but didn't finish yet... Somewhere over the rainbow...

This is a kawaii collage I'm working on. The surface I'm using is our Ikea coffee table. Will show you the final result once it's done. Don't you love Kawaii?? I do, a LOT!!!

Remember my flowers square pattern? I never made them into cushions, thought they were a little big. So I made them into blankets for the baby doll beds of my girls. Made a matching mattress and pillow from some of my sweet fabrics.. Nice and sunny. The back of the blanket is flannel. I still very much LOVE this pattern and the colors. Pretty!

Some pic's of my house and stuff. I like this word: Imagine. Makes life worth living. As do all these joyful colors. Can't get enough!!

Anywho, I probably will be gone for a while again. The holiday coming closer and closer. It's gonna be a busy time for me. We still need to finish our camper van before we can use it... From september both my girls will go to school, which should give me some room to craft... I have lots of ideas!

Spring Is In The Air

Don't you love the feeling that spring is nearing? I do. The light is different, birds start singing early in the morning. The light comes through the curtains before nine... I love the spring. When we were living in Thailand last year, that was the thing I missed most, Spring. You can just smell it when you're outside. And it doesn't matter to me that it still freezes. So I've started to work on some spring colored crochet and crafting.

I showed you the two sides of this pillow before it was finished. I really love the colors and that I can just flip it around for a complete different style, or color actually. It looks very retro to me, this pattern. It's very sunny.

This is what our temporary couch looks like and the poof in front, I got at the local thrift store and covered it with some new fabric I bought for this pupose. For the new couch I will make some matching cushions, I think.

I love how colorful and sunny my living room looks now. And I'm very curious what it's going to look like once the new couch finally arrives... Only 5 weeks to go...

Of course I had to start a new crochet project as well. I think it's going to e a table runner, but not sure yet. I really like these awfully sweet colors.

Well, enjoy the upcoming spring!

Somewhere Over The...

When packages like this arrive by mail only 1 day after I placed an order I'm happy...

But when I open it and it bursts into color before my eyes I'm overwhelmed with joy and happiness... Silly isn't it? Although I'm sure you will all recognize the feeling, right? RIGHT???

And then, when you wake up and walk downstairs, not thinking about it, ('cause you have to start up a new day, make sandwiches, tea, eggs) and walk into the living room to see THIS I'm just totally excited! By daylight the colors always look better.

The reason of this 'yarn greed' is my long stalled decision what to do with the pretty, soft and thick cotton I bought some time ago. Remember?

It's going to be a rainbow blanket for the little ones' new bed. The cotton is just wonderful, although the yarn does split (a lot...). I use a 4,5 needle, so it progresses quite fast.

I love to work with all the rainbow colors, but you already knew that, didn't you? Well, now you know what I'm doing this weekend. Hope you have fun too!

See you next year, probably. Have fun on new years' eve. And a happy new year to all of you!!!
