OBJECTIVES: To discuss the topic on Crafting Action Research
PRELIMINARIES AND PROCEEDINGS
The aforementioned activity started exactly 1:00 in the
afternoon. The activity was started with a prayer through multi-media
presentation and followed with singing the Philippine National
Anthem through multi-media presentation. Next, was my Welcome Talk.
It was followed by the SLAC proper. I discussed all the important topics
on Crafting Action Research.
The activity aimed to equip teachers with the necessary knowledge
and skills to conduct action research effectively, thereby improving
teaching methodologies and student learning outcomes. I served as the
organizer and resource speaker. I commenced the seminar by
emphasizing the significance of action research in fostering continuous
improvement in education. I underscored the importance of teachers
taking an active role in critically examining their teaching practices and
implementing evidence-based strategies to address identified challenges.
I also highlighted the transformative potential of action research in
enhancing student engagement, academic performance, and overall
classroom dynamics.
Moreover, I emphasized the role of school leadership in fostering a
culture of inquiry and collaboration conducive to action research
initiatives. I also guided the participants in developing action plans based
on their research findings, emphasizing the importance of setting realistic
goals, implementing interventions, and monitoring progress over time.
I also facilitated interactive workshop sessions aimed at providing
participants with practical insights into conducting action research
projects. She also introduced various data collection methods, including
surveys, observations, interviews, and document analysis, and guided
participants on selecting the most appropriate methods based on their
research questions and contexts. During that day, participants learned
how to formulate clear and focused research questions that address
specific challenges or areas for improvement within their classrooms or
schools. Through hands-on activities, participants gained proficiency in
analyzing qualitative and quantitative data to derive meaningful insights
and inform decision-making processes. Throughout the seminar,
participants engaged in lively discussions and exchanged best practices
related to action research implementation. Everyone shared their
experiences, challenges, and success stories, fostering a collaborative
learning environment where participants could learn from one another's
experiences and insights.
The SLAC on "Crafting Action Research" proved to be a
resounding success, empowering educators with the knowledge, skills,
and confidence to embark on action research journeys within their
respective contexts. By leveraging evidence-based practices and
fostering a culture of inquiry and collaboration, participants are poised to
drive meaningful improvements in teaching and learning outcomes,
ultimately benefiting pupils and the broader educational community. In
conclusion, the seminar underscored the transformative potential of
action research as a powerful tool for driving continuous improvement
and innovation in education. Moving forward, GDES remains committed to
supporting educators in their action research endeavors and fostering a
culture of lifelong learning and professional growth.
After the discussion, the participants were given the chance to
ask or share their ideas about the topics discussed. The last part was
the closing remarks by Janice M. Dizon, Grade 6 Adviser. The
activity ended exactly 5:00 in the afternoon.
RESULT:
The activity was successfully conducted and the objectives were
obtained. Overall, the activity was successfully done. It’s ended exactly
5:00 in the afternoon.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
The teacher participants of the said activity shall craft a school-
based action research that would incorporate diverse perspectives and
methodologies to ensure comprehensive understanding of educational
challenges and innovative solutions. They must also collaborate with
colleagues to share insights and best practices fostering a culture of
continuous improvement.
