Re: Welcome to the real world, kid. Mike2R

I have seen bits of this, but it always ends up with the idiots being picked on.

When you see woman players always with the same groups, they will shut them up with lots of kills, basically the idiots are targeted.

Even funnier when the woman is the wife of one of the other players. This makes the idiots panic quit.

This is a hardcore FPS.

Yet on a more casual TPS you do get more idiots including some players blocking in female characters (not players) and trying to hump them using the taunt system. Dropping a grenade gets the message through, then they got booted. I occasionally played female characters as they were nicer to watch

Re: Multiple view points - cyborg

You have it right, this is why I ignore them - and they are going paywall mad.

MJI

Re: Multiple view points

See my other posts, removing the crap gives you a lot more sensible sites to view, foreign sites are pretty good and blogs reveal more about politics than any paper.

Anyway compare Guardian and Telegraph, different view points but not junk papers.

MJI

Re: Multiple view points

Are they reputable?

The Sun lies, Mirror is crap, Mail is fascist.

Leaves the TV sites, lots of international sites, a few half decent newspapers, local papers, the news agencies, news blogs.

Nothing wrong with some prefiltering.

As to bias somewhere between them all you can find the truth.

OK I would be too embarrased about being on the Sun site, more embarrassing than porn.

Mirror - all celeb stories no news

Mail - just a bunch of fascists, see their recent campaign to restrict our internet.

MJI

Multiple view points

Are essential when dealing with any new story beyond traffic news.

I will admit my first source is BBC, after that I look through various links from Google news search.

I do not check anythng News International nor gutter

Murdoch machinations mean Microsoft must rename SkyDrive

MJI

TIKFAM

Why did they name it after the Austin Metro?

MJI

Hmmm

Well when I first heard of Sky Drive my thoughts were of Walnut heads empire.

In fact it puts me right off using it.

RE: TP - Liver

Yuk - much rather get my vitamin C from fruit & veg.

More to the point, rather then force down and feel sick with liver I can get it at a higher concentration with those old favourites Brocolli and Sprouts.

I also have an orange a day.

Mixed diet FTW!

Butchers meat

No it isn't full of antibiotics and hormones.

They are expensive and can be dangerous, antibiotics are only used when an animal is ill.

Sony and Panasonic plan 300GB Blu-Ray replacement for 2015

MJI

Re: Not blue ray again...please...no

1) There were no backroom deals. But Various Hollywood studios are owned by various hardware companies.

2) BluRay was a collaberation between a lot of companies including Phillips, Panasonic and Sony.

3) Only Toshiba of the big Japanese manufacturers made HD-DVD.

4) Sony guaranteed Blu Rays success by including a drive in the PS3.

5) PS3 drove the success of BD and the hard disk and media capabilites killed off HD-DVD

MJI

Re: Any interested? ANYONE?

There are always people who want the latest format, film fans will be quite likely to want to go 4K.

Everyone assumes that what they want everyone wants, someone who pays a few thousand for a prohector will no baulk at buying a 4K optical disc player.

Some people like expensive cars, some like expensive furniture, some like top end AV kit.

Yes my TV is worth more than my car!

MJI

Re: " ... 300GB-worth of CGI wizardry ..." (Wowfood)

There are a lot of really good games and space used doesn't really come into it.

Short but very good, Journey

Long, hard and very well executed, The Last of Us

Lots of shorter games are more about the multiplayer than the single player

This generation we have been careful to buy decent games rather than cheap games.

MJI
WTF?

Re: Seems Irrelevant (PhilW)

Now can one of the downvoters tell us why you downvoted him?

Seems perfectly reasonable to me.

I get the feeling they have not heard a HD music format in action

MJI

Re: First news story for the Playstation 5?

We look after our discs.

But you have admitted the big failing of Toshibas format, lack of capacity.

As to loading, never seen one take more than a few seconds.

Best thing about HD-DVD is that they were easier to rip so they could be torrented and then watched on the most popular Blu Ray player.

That is how we got around lack of Blu Ray releases from certain studios.

MJI

Re: " ... 300GB-worth of CGI wizardry ..."

Would be good for Fallout type games!

MJI

Re: Sony... Oh well.

BD can handle all the same codecs as HDDVD, just that it can hold more data, which with a longer film is very important.

Being able to support MPEG2 1440x1080/50i to me is very important.

Home burnt from HDV

MJI

Re: First news story for the Playstation 5?

I think the DVD part of HD-DVD was a trick by Toshiba to get it accepted by more people.

MJI

Re: First news story for the Playstation 5?

HD-DVD was smaller capacity and not as tough

MJI

Re: " ... 300GB-worth of CGI wizardry ..."

Disc full of games.

Lets look at my latest purchase

Limits of graphics pushed - yes for console

Story - definately - very emotional

Lots of guns - no

Short SP - 8 hours in and no where near end

Hard - very

But produced by a Sony owned studio.

MJI

Re: Sony... Oh well.

Sony formats

At least have always aimed to be better than the opposition.

But think CD was a huge success.

Beta was better.

Never heard Elcassete or whatever it is called but supposed to be good.

ATRAC was a good audio compression algorithm

BluRay is more future proof than HD-DVD

Sony have developed a lot of good formats.

Comrade! If you dare f$%^ing swear on the internet, WE'LL SHOOT

MJI

A Yank CAN be as bad

A game I play, on the forums, a new person posted that they wanted to play the game but there was too much swearing. He asked for the next game to have all swearing removed.

He hated curse words, but did not mind the shooting, the gouging of eyes, the bloodshed ect.

Lets just say he had the piss ripped out of him. Especaily when when he said that he routed his interent via a clean feed system. He was also anti porn and nudity.

Why did he want to play a shooting game?

My old 10 year old home PC P4 I used at work for a while after the last work PC blew up, was much faster than the celeryon, it (celeryon) moved to my desk after its previous user left. it is used for XP tasks.

Re: Oh boy

On consoles - we have erm 14 different ones. None of them will stop playing games due to external reasons. Except of course multiplayers.

The console we have preordered is the same.

Why would I want a console which could lose games?

MJI

Being gamer friendly is good business sense

Make it easy to play a game, make it easy to buy and sell, and people will buy you console. Make it diffcult and people will check the competition.

Sony showed really good sense with the PS4, They interviewed the developers, they investigated architectures, they have gone into the next generation with thoughts of the PS1 and PS2 eras.

One final thing, console dominance does not matter as much as you think, because there will be a huge number of games to play - remember PS2 era?

MJI

Re: I agree wholeheartedly

So what have you done to deserve an XBone?

Have you been naughty?

Have you been evil?

If not, you don't deserve one.

You deserve a PS4

Re: hahaha

But they were only hour long demos

MJI

No problem here - no really exciting XB exclusives

Not many XB exclusives I actually want, but this generation ME came, Bioshock came, and latest Bioshock Infinite PS3 is great (Move support).

Now the one XB series I have wanted to try, the publishers have gone multiplatform, so I will get Destiny, on PS4.

First games will be Watch Dogs, Destiny, KZ Shadow Fall, Order 1886. Now how can that go wrong?

And we only went PS3 since we had a PS2
